Biography

Laurent Badiane is one of the leaders of the firm’s “Intellectual Property and Digital Law” team. He offers both legal advice and support on complex contentious issues. He advises his clients on all aspects of intellectual property law and new technologies with regard to the acquisition, promotion, use and protection of the rights concerned. His practice covers the regulatory, transactional and commercial aspects of contracts in the technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) sector, including online games. He also supports companies in their strategies on information and communication technologies, and advises them on all aspects of (French, European and African) legislation relating to data protection and privacy, as well as cybersecurity issues.

Laurent is regularly invited to speak at various events, writes numerous articles and is mentioned in renowned legal publications with regard to his expertise.

Laurent is also a member of several professional associations such as the French Association for Information Technology and Telecommunications Law (AFDIT, Association française du Droit de l’Informatique et des Télécommunications), the Association of Trademark and Industrial Design Law Practitioners (APRAM, Association des Praticiens du Droit des Marques et des Modèles) and the International Trademark Association (INTA). Laurent participates in the research work of the Scientific Cooperation Foundation SystemX on the matter of cyber risk management and control.

Laurent is ranked in international legal directories, including The Legal 500 (Paris and EMEA, i.e. Europe, the Middle East and Africa Economic Area) and Décideurs de Leaders League, as a leading lawyer in France in the areas of IP/IT, TMT and data protection.
