Biography

Jean-François is responsible for the Commercial, Competition & Distribution Law team together with Martin Riedel. He advises and represents companies to help them solve all problems related to the distribution of their products or services, be it B2B or B2C.

Thus, his field of work mainly covers distribution, consumption, sales networks and franchising.

His work also includes issues related to distribution measures:

  • the protection of intellectual property rights, in particular trade marks and other distinctive signs and copyright, as well as assistance in matters of unfair competition. As a result, his work proves to be a valuable support for the colleagues in the “IT Law & Intellectual Property Law” team;
  • Environmental law, where distribution activities have an impact on the environment, be it for waste treatment, ICPE, various types of pollution resulting from the operation of a commercial facility, etc., a branch of law in which he closely cooperates with the real estate and construction law teams.

Jean-François also advises our clients on white-collar crime matters, particularly when the cases have an international element, in coordination with foreign colleagues.

His work covers a wide range of sectors, including industry, luxury goods, (audiovisual) media and entertainment, as well as retail and e-commerce.

Finally, Jean-François is actively involved in the commercial law practice group of Pangea-Net, the international network of independent law firms, of which klein • wenner is a particularly active member.
